SO MANY DOTS. This was the first thought that came to mind when Daniel and I were tasked by Colossal Media to cover their recreation of Roy Lichtenstein’s “Red and White Brushstrokes” for their client Christie’s. We spent a week with the Colossal Walldogs documenting their process, capturing every handpainted dot.
I primarily focused on shooting the timelapses and hyperlapses, frame by frame, and street b-roll. The painters’ dedication to their craft made what could’ve been a meticulous experience a very peaceful and inspired exercise instead. It was a joy hanging out on the rooftop and at street level, figuring out the next way to make dots and lines look dynamic on screen.
